The Core Research Facility (CRF) provides access to Olink Proteomics, a cutting-edge platform for high-multiplex protein biomarker discovery and targeted analysis.
Olink utilizes proprietary Proximity Extension Assay (PEA) technology, which uses pairs of DNA-oligonucleotide-labeled antibodies to bind to target proteins. This dual-recognition method eliminates cross-reactivity, offering exceptional specificity and sensitivity while requiring incredibly small sample volumes (as little as 1 to 4 µL of plasma, serum, or other biological fluids). By bridging proteomics with genomics, Olink assays are seamlessly read out using the CRF's advanced NGS (Next-Generation Sequencing) and qPCR platforms.

1. High-Plex Kits (Large-Scale Discovery)

Olink Reveal: A powerful, streamlined NGS-based proteomics solution designed for broad discovery. It allows researchers to measure over 1,000 carefully curated human proteins from just ~4 µL of sample. The panel focuses heavily on robustly detectable markers associated with inflammation, immune response, and major biological pathways.
- Readout: NGS (Compatible with CRF Illumina sequencers)
2. Mid-Plex Kits (Targeted Disease Panels) Pre-designed panels specifically curated for particular disease areas or biological pathways.
- Olink Target 96: Measures 92 proteins per panel using just 1 µL of sample, reporting in relative quantification (NPX). Available in 15 distinct thematic panels (e.g., Cardiometabolic, Inflammation, Oncology, Neurology).

Olink Target 48: Measures up to 45 proteins from 1 µL of sample, providing absolute quantification (exact concentrations in pg/mL). Ideal for cytokine and neurodegeneration studies.
