A new BSL-2 level Core Facility Unit, established at Botnar building, is now open for the campus researchers.

This new unit aims to provide solutions for experimental design with BSL-2 level biological model systems. The unit is equipped with top notch instruments that can be used primarily with various pathogens including bacteria, viruses, parasites and fungi as well as with non-pathogenic unclassified microorganisms and unclassified human tissues. The unit is well equipped with all required consumables and essential instruments, including a biological hood, incubators, shakers, and centrifuges, allowing to conduct complete experiments within the facility, without the need for "bringing your own equipment".

   

In addition, the unit is equipped with the following general instruments:

• Bio-safety hood

• Incubators for cells and bacteria

• Centrifuges

• ThermoMixer 

• Shakers

• Refrigerator

• Freezer (-20C)

• Ice machine

• Ultrapure water

• Small equipment
